Frogroach

This has been one of our secret Western Lakes patterns for the past decade, originally conceived by the Horan brothers. Found from Christys Creek to Great Lake, the cockroach  Polyzosteria yingina is an important summer time ‘hatch’, where they can be found floating along lake edges. Being a large terrestrial, it is an easy imitation to use, and great for targeting bigger fish. In the past few years we have also used the Frogroach at frog time, where it has become our go-to dry fly for fish preying on the Tasmanian froglet.  Sold per half-dozen
