With 49 days of rain since August 1, the fishing in Tasmania has been tough to say the least. But with three warm consecutive days, the fishing has come alive!
Trout have been nymphing on the freestone rivers, black and red spinners are falling on Brumbys, and there’s been loads of cruisers in the Nineteen Lagoons. Our Black and red spinner variants, Scruffy’s and Woolly Caddis have been the go-to flies (check them out at our FlyShop). Mid next week looks like it should see more idealic spring conditions, after a brief frontal system tomorrow.
Here a few images from the past couple of days. Enjoy the fishing!
- One of a couple-dozen trout polaroided this week in the Western Lakes.
- An angler surveys the scene at Brumbys Creek, whilst a red spinner basks in the sun
- A thumping 3 1/4 brown trout, polaroided and taken on one of our Red Spinner patterns
