New gear from Patagonia, Scott, Epic, Lamson and Kean Kanteen
Since moving to our new larger location at 29 The Kingsway, Launceston, we’ve been very busy sourcing an even larger range of cool gear.
New in stock from Patagonia is our favourite insulation layer, the breathable, stretchable, water-resitant Nano-Air. An awesome replacement for bulky fleece jackets, the Nano-Air is perfect for anybody that fishes, hikes or boats the high country. Looking for a bombproof jacket, built to last a lifetime? I can also highly recommend the 2015 River Salt jacket: I’ve been bush-bashing the Western Lakes for the past three seasons in mine, and it barely has a mark on it. The SST Jacket is also now in stock, this is the classic wading jacket from Patagonia. 
Into saltwater fly fishing? Check out the re-designed flats booties from Patagonia, and the new design Sunshade Technical Hoody featuring hand protection, extra-cover hood, and hard wearing re-enforcements to protect from push-pole boating wear and tear.
On the fly rod front, we are stoked to now stock Scott fly rods, alongside Sage and Orvis. The Scott Radian is a class leading fly rod, that excels at short to medium range presentations, and is sympathetic to just about any casting style – we’ve got #5’s through #8’s in stock. (Contact us and come out to our free casting session on the 9th of May to give one a go, along with the latest Sage and Orvis!). We are also excited to be one of only a handful of Epic Fly Rod stockists in the world, with a good range of 5 weight 8 foot rod build kits in stock. The kits (designed by kiwi Master Caster Carl McNeil) are bloody brilliant – everything from the rod blank, fittings, threads, epoxies and even the binding jig are included in these kits. Simone recently built one in-store, which I was lucky enough to christen on a Western Lakes trophy, so safe to say that I’m sold on their ability as a brilliant fishing rod.
Other new to stock items include the tried and tested, made in the USA Waterworks / Lamson range of reels, as well as the complete range of Klean Kanteen water bottles.
